From complete train sets to current production
- Early 1900s
Founding of the company
Hassan El Tahawy founds the company, working in construction and rolling stock.
- 1925–1938
First trains to ENR
32 complete train sets supplied to Egyptian National Railways — some forming the Egyptian Royal train of Orient Express fame.
- 1974
Restructuring for large-scale projects
Mohamed Abdel Moneim El-Tahawy restructures the company for large-scale rolling stock and infrastructure projects.

Hungarian train sets
Six complete Ganz-MÁVAG train sets supplied to ENR.
- Late 1970s
French passenger trains
French passenger coaches supplied to Egyptian National Railways.

Ganz-MÁVAG locomotives
31 DVM-11 locomotives delivered to ENR.
- 1970s–1990s
International passenger-coach exports
Hundreds of passenger coaches supplied internationally, including programmes for Malaysia and Algeria.

245 Henschel locomotives supplied to ENR.

Large ENR fleet programmes
Thousands of freight and passenger cars of multiple types supplied to Egyptian National Railways.

Spanish passenger-coach programmes
More than 5,000 Spanish passenger coaches supplied to ENR, including the first Spanish sleeping coaches of their kind in Egypt.
- 2004–2010
Passenger-coach refurbishment and bogie upgrades
200 coaches completely refurbished and upgraded with Ganz Motor bogie systems in 2004, followed by 80 coaches in 2009 and 116 in 2010.
- 2012
A new era of leadership
Dr. Amr El Tahawy becomes chairman; cooperation with Egyptian factories deepens.
- 2012–2015
212 VIP cars renewed
212 stainless cars fitted with 424 new Ganz bogies; interiors with KADER.
- June 28, 2018
140 Freight Wagons Contract
Contract signed for 140 freight wagons for Egyptian National Railways: 125 flat wagons and 15 brake vans, using Amsted Rail Motion Control bogies with 25-ton axle-load capability.
- September 30, 2018
40 Power Coaches Contract
Contract signed for 40 Power Coaches for Egyptian National Railways, using Egyptian Ganz Motor bogies tailored for ENR track conditions.
- March 14, 2020
60 Power Coaches Extension
Extension signed for a further 60 Power Coaches, bringing the programme total to 100 coaches using Egyptian Ganz Motor bogies.
- 2021–2024
75 Grain Wagons Programme
75 grain wagons supplied to Egyptian National Railways from 2021 to 2024, combining Kiruna Wagon discharge technology with Amsted Rail Motion Control bogies and automatic couplers.
- 2021–Present
1,000 Freight Wagons Programme
The largest freight-wagon project in decades in the Egyptian market: 1,000 wagons for ENR, all using Amsted Rail Motion Control bogies and automatic couplers, with Tahawy coordinating the railway technology and component supply.

100 Power Coaches Delivered
Delivery of all 100 Power Coaches to Egyptian National Railways completed successfully.

The work continues
Production, delivery and local capability
Today, part of the 1,000 Freight Wagons programme has been delivered to ENR while most of the fleet remains under production, including 300 side-dump wagons.
The 100 Power Coaches programme was completed in 2023 using Ganz Motor bogies.
