On November 18, 2021, the 1,000 Freight Wagons programme moved into its production and supply phase following the contract signed earlier that year.
Amsted Rail confirmed that complete bogies, wheelsets, automatic couplers and Endurance draft gears would be manufactured and shipped to Egypt for wagon production at the SEMAF factory. The locally manufactured fleet for Egyptian National Railways covers side-dump, flat, tank, box and brake-van configurations.
