On June 6, 2023, the SD0.162 Side-Dump Wagon prototype completed testing, validating the operating concept behind one of the most technologically advanced side-dump freight wagons in the world.
The wagon is designed for controlled discharge to either side of the track and can discharge while moving at low speed, reducing the need for fixed unloading infrastructure and improving productivity in bulk-freight operations.
Reference technical data from the tender package includes a 50-ton payload class, 1,435 mm gauge, approximately 12.26 m wagon length, 2.955 m height, up to 120 km/h maximum speed, Amsted Rail Motion Control bogies with 25-ton axle-load capability and air-brake configuration. Final specifications are configured according to customer requirements, route conditions, cargo, approvals and operating needs.
