Product overview
The Amsted Rail Motion Control® bogie is a heavy-haul three-piece freight bogie, first introduced in 2003 and the first bogie to achieve unconditional AAR M-976 approval. It is optimized for 286,000 lb (32.5 t) gross rail load and saves up to 800 lb per carset against conventional designs.
Tahawy Rail supplies Motion Control bogies to Egyptian National Railways and Egyptian railway production facilities — more than 14,000 Amsted Rail bogies have been delivered to ENR since 1989, including the single largest freight bogie system supply agreement in Amsted’s international history (1,000 wagons, 2021).
